Finally, he talked about his anticipation of the electric atmosphere tonight in SF when Bonds goes for #756. Baumbach discussed Glavine's 300th win and the honor of that milestone given the lack of durability with the average ballplayer. Finally, he talked about how amazingly you still cannot count the Yankees out of the playoffs this season. Strauss talked about how the Cardinals are simply not a playoff team this year. He also discussed Jim Edmonds stating that he would be okay with a trade away from St. Louis and Scott Rolen's ailing shoulder. Arangure gave his thoughts on Glavine and A-Rod's milestones acheived over the weekend. He touched on his recent piece on Miguel Cabrera and how his expanding waist line could inhibit his excellent talent and numbers. He also talked about how Cabrera can be sensitive to criticism so free agency and potentially playing in a big market could negatively affect his performance and personality. Rosenberg discussed the recent misfortunes of the Detroit Tigers and how the injury bug has hit them hard recently. He touched on the slow return of Kenny Rogers and Gary Sheffield's shoulder, and how right now the older players are indeed banged up, but they should eventually be healthy for the playoff stretch. Reaves discussed the first-place Diamondbacks and how vital Eric Byrnes is to the club, as his leadership has carried this team into first. He also touched on the large amount of waiver claims made by the D'Backs over the weekend and how some are curious additions, but overall none of them are overwhelmingly significant. Finally, he talked about the success of recently-promoted prospect Justin Upton.
